It is important to implement a color-coded storage system which can ensure safety and the reduction of the risk of poisoning or fire. 

Red:

  • HAZARD – Flammability: Store in flammable chemical storing area.

Striped Red:

  • HAZARD – Flammability: Never store in similar area of other flammable chemicals or other materials.

Yellow:

  • HAZARD – Reactivity: Store separate from different chemicals.

Yellow Stripe:

  • HAZARD – Reactivity: Never store with other Code-yellow chemicals; store alone.

White:

  • HAZARD – Contact: Store independently in corrosion-free environment.

White Stripe:

  • HAZARD – Contact: Non-compatible with chemicals in white group.

Blue:

  • HAZARD – Health: Always store in Poison area which is secure.

Orange:

  • Orange is a Miscellaneous category that does not fit in any of the above categories.
